Hope for Heartworm-Positive Dogs

The Save A Heart initiative transports heartworm-positive dogs to shelters nationwide, where they receive life-saving treatment and begin their path to permanent homes. This program alleviates the strain on local shelters, offering vulnerable dogs a second chance.

Critical pharmaceutical Support in Disaster Response

During Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and other natural disasters, Boehringer Ingelheim delivered vital pharmaceutical support to animal shelters and rescues. Donations of vaccines, preventatives, and treatment medications ensured animals in affected areas received the care they needed. This support was crucial for protecting animals and providing immediate access to care through vaccination clinics, emphasizing the essential role of veterinary pharmaceuticals in disaster response and recovery.

Improving Access to Care and Reducing Pet Overpopulation

Boehringer Ingelheim plays a key role in supporting Good Fix clinics, providing essential vaccines and veterinary medications to improve access to care for pets. Their support enables Good Fix to spay, neuter, and care for thousands of animals, reducing shelter populations and enhancing pet health. This partnership helps ensure sustainable pet populations and a brighter future for pets in need.

Supporting Rescue Horses with Ulcerguard

Boehringer Ingelheim Equine Health supports rescue horses by providing Ulcerguard, which plays a critical role in maintaining their health and well-being. Ulcerguard helps stabilize health issues, particularly during times of stress, and ensures horses receive the care they need to thrive. This ongoing support is vital in helping rescue horses adjust to new environments and continue their recovery or rehabilitation.

Shelter Bowl IX: A Record-Breaking Impact for Shelter Pets

Shelter Bowl IX surpassed its goal, providing an incredible 3.7 million meals to shelter animals across the country. In addition, the campaign successfully donated thousands of doses of NexGard PLUS, further supporting the health and well-being of countless shelter pets.

This tremendous achievement made a lasting difference in the lives of shelter animals, ensuring they received the care, nutrition, and protection they need to thrive.

Supporting Alaska Native Communities

The Shots for Good initiative significantly support Indigenous communities across the U.S., addressing critical needs by providing essential veterinary care, including vaccines and preventatives. This ongoing commitment continues to make a lasting impact, improving the health and well-being of both pets and people in these communities.

Emergency Food for Millions of Bees After Hurricanes

In partnership with Mann Lake, the Florida State Beekeepers Association, and Cargill, responded to Hurricane Helene’s devastation by providing emergency food supplies to beekeepers in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. We delivered 41,000 gallons of syrup and 40,000 pounds of bee pollen substitute to sustain millions of at-risk bees. This effort is part of an ongoing mission to support beekeepers and protect vital pollinators as they recover.

250,000 Meals and Candy Delivered to Earthquake Survivors

Greater Good Charities' disaster response team, supported by 70 volunteers, provided over 250,000 hot meals and candy to earthquake victims, refugees, and rescue workers in Hatay, Turkey. For 60 days, the team distributed meals, pet food for families, and food for stray animals. We continue to provide humanitarian and pet aid through local partners.

Supporting Education for Refugee Children in Greece

Greater Good Charities provides backpacks with essential school supplies to refugee children, supporting their education despite the challenges of displacement.

Disaster Response

Boehringer Ingelheim leads the charge in disaster response with unwavering support and critical supplies.

Hurricanes Helene and Milton unleashed unprecedented devastation across the Southeastern U.S. With support from Boehringer Ingelheim, Greater Good Charities deployed 140+ trucks and 5 planes across five states, delivering 2,800 tons of emergency supplies, evacuating shelter animals, saving billions of bees, and providing nearly $10M in aid – transforming every $1 donated into $27 of relief.

1. Preparedness

Set the Stage for Relief

Supplies were delivered ahead of Hurricane Helene, and 100+ shelter pets relocated to safety. Additional supplies were pre-positioned for Hurricane Milton, with partners engaged to support communities and safeguard bees through emergency feeding.

2. Response

Aid is Delivered Immediately

Close to $10M in aid, including food, water, hygiene products, pet supplies, and beekeeper support, was delivered via 140 trucks to 50 communities, including remote areas, in collaboration with local, state, and national partners.

3. Recovery

Sustained Efforts for Long-Term Impact

Recovery efforts focus on delivering supplies, supporting affected communities, and providing ongoing aid to the most vulnerable in high-need areas.
